Paul McBride grabbed a share of the lead heading into the final round of the UAE Championship at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club in Abu Dhabi.
McBride added a blistering second round of 65 to his opening 68 to climb to seven-under alongside Ahmed Ali, Toby Hunt and former Irish amateur champion John Gough.
The Island golfer was a birdie machine this morning, rolling in eight birdies in a rollercoaster round.
The former Walker Cup player roared out of the traps with four birdies in eight holes before three bogeys in four holes around the turn dropped him out of the lead.
Birdies on 13, 14, 16 and 18 lifted him back into a share of the lead.
Overnight leader Mark Power is one shot off the pace on six-under after rounds of 64 and 70 with John Ross Galbraith a shot further back.
Dalkey’s Brandon St John is two-under-par.
