Beth Coulter has the first piece of silverware tucked away ahead of what she hopes to be a trophy-laden month after she helped Arizona State win the Notre Dame Clover Cup at Wigwam Resort.
Arizona State were comfortable winners, running up a final round combined score of six-under-par to win the trophy by four shots on thirteen-under-par.
Coulter was the star performer for her team as she finished the week in a share of second place on the individual leaderboard on six-under.
The Kirkistown Castle star missed out on a clean sweep by two shots from Melena Barrientos of Clemson despite shooting her third under par round of the week.
Coulter teed off in the final round with a share of the lead but two bogeys in her first six holes left her up against it.
The 20-year-old who will celebrate her 21st birthday in Las Vegas, rallied with birdies on the 7th and 10th to keep her hopes of a maiden collegiate win alive.
A late charge didn’t come though as a birdie on 14 was sandwiched by dropped shots on 13 and 15 although she did finish in style with a closing eagle and a round of 71.
The Irish international will be heading to Augusta National for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in fine form next month.
