Beth Coulter will battle it out for her maiden US collegiate victory after she maintained her place at the top of the leaderboard at the Notre Dame Clover Cup.
An opening round of 67 gave Coulter a share of the lead at Wigwam Resort and a second round of 68 has kept her level at the top with Maddie May.
It’s a home event for Coulter and her Arizona State teammates and they have taken full advantage, holding a two-shot lead in the team competition on a combined seven-under-par with four players inside the top-15.
Teeing off with a share of the lead in round two, Coulter started off brilliantly with back to back birdies before finishing her front nine solidly with seven successive pars.
The Kirkistown Castle native extended her run of pars to ten but her run was broken by a double bogey on the par-3 13th to drop her out of a share of the lead.
The 20-year-old responded with aplomb and birdied two of her last three holes to regain a share of the lead heading into the final day.
