With LIV Hong Kong and a PGA Tour Signature Event coinciding, there was $40 million up for grabs in those two events alone, and two Irishmen carved out a nice slice for themselves.

Russell Henley’s chip on the 16th might’ve run close to 10 feet past had it not hit the pin and dropped, setting about a chain of events that saw him pick Collin Morikawa’s pocket and collect the top prize of $4 million.

It’s a dozen years since Henley won the Sony Open on his PGA Tour debut – he’d twice qualified for the US Open prior – but that early promise only showed itself in fleeting glimpses prior to late 2022 when he ended a near six-year winless streak. Now, with the victory at Bay Hill, he’s up to a career-high seven in the OWGR, and in the driving seat to make his first Ryder Cup appearance. Oh, and he’s taken his career PGA Tour earnings north of $37 million.

Morikawa’s consolation prize for second was $2.2 million, while Shane Lowry’s solo seventh finish earned him $700,000, taking his season’s earnings on the PGA Tour in excess of $3,000,000.

Rory McIlroy’s T15 finish was worth almost $350k, and takes him over the $4 million mark on the PGA Tour alone in 2025.

Sergio Garcia was the big winner at LIV Hong Kong, and as well as sending a timely reminder to Luke Donald that he’s ready, willing and more than able to a Ryder Cup asset, he banked $4 million for himself.

Tom McKibbin finished tied for sixth alongside Jon Rahm and they each banked $561k and change, taking McKibbin’s total earnings in three LIV starts well beyond what he earned in 31 DP World Tour tournaments in 2023 and just shy of what he collected in 27 starts in 2024, while Graeme McDowell’s highest finish of the season saw the Portrush man take home $312,500.

Max Kennedy’s PGA Tour debut in the Additional Event Puerto Rico Open showed great promise but a poor final round meant he took home just over $8,000, while Leona Maguire’s final start of the LPGA’s Asian Swing saw her T33 finish rewarded with $15,258.
