Leona Maguire made it back to back rounds of 71 over the weekend at the Blue Bay LPGA in China as she finished in a share of 33rd place.

An eventful final round saw Maguire climb to two-over-par despite not having her best game tee to green again.

The Cavan woman improved off the tee with eleven out of fourteen fairways but she was only able to find eleven of the eighteen greens.

Maguire started well with back to back birdies but her round turned into a rollercoaster when she went on a bad run of three bogeys in four holes. A birdie on the par-5 8th restored parity to her round.

The Solheim Cup star put together a strong back nine with birdies on the 14th and 17th and while she will be disappointed to have ended her week with a bogey it was another solid if unspectacular performance.

Maguire was nowhere near the winner’s enclosure as Rio Takeda coasted to victory on seventeen-under.

A final round of 64 from the Japanese golfer saw her roar to a six shot win over Minjee Lee.

Takeda was bogey free on Sunday including a back nine of 31 which saw her pull away from the chasing pack and pick up her second LPGA Tour win.
