It’s very much a case of the globetrotting Irish this week with hopefuls in America, Puerto Rico and China with big events and debuts to boot.
PGA Tour
There’s a double helping of PGA Tour action this week from an Irish perspective with the next Signature Event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, being played alongside the Puerto Rico Open.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry will be battling it out for a slice of the $20 million on offer at Bay Hill while Royal Dublin’s Max Kennedy will make his PGA Tour debut in Puerto Rico where the field will be competing for a $4 million prize fund.
Both McIlroy and Lowry have good records at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with McIroy winning at Bay Hill in 2018 while Lowry finished third last year, a result which kickstarted a remarkably consistent season.
LPGA Tour
Leona Maguire continues her Asian swing at the Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course in China.
Maguire had a positive week in Singapore last time out, posting back to back rounds of 69 at the weekend to move into a share of 21st on two-under-par.
Ladies European Tour
There is a packed Irish contingent heading for Australia as the Ladies European Tour gets back underway.
Lauren Walsh, Anna Foster and Annabel Wilson tee it up at the Australian WPGA Championship at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club.
Epson Tour
Sara Byrne makes her second successive Epson Tour start at the Atlantic Beach Classic in Florida.
Byrne was 28th on her debut last week after opening with a round of 67.
LIV Golf
Tom McKibbin is looking to maintain his good start to life on the LIV Golf League as his Legion XIII side tee it up in Hong Kong.
PGA Tour Champions
Padraig Harrington’s quest for a tenth PGA Tour Champions win begins at the Cologuard Classic at La Paloma Country Club.
