Ronan Mullarney spilled some loose change from his pockets after a disappointing final round of 77 saw him tumble down the leaderboard at the Alps Tour’s Red Sea Little Venice Open.
Mullarney was the lone Irish survivor and in a share of 18th place heading into the final day but he was forced to settle for a share of 37th place on three-over-par.
The Galway man who won the 2023 Alps Tour Order of Merit got off to a very slow start as he opened with back to back bogeys before carding a third dropped shot on the 6th.
A birdie on the 8th stopped the bleeding and he looked to have steadied the ship after recovering from a bogey on 10 with a birdie on the 11th.
However, he slipped further down the leaderboard with a nightmare finish as he bogeyed the par-3 16th and double bogeyed the par-5 17th to come home in 40.
Mullarney’s three-over total was a distant fourteen shots adrift of eventual winner Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela.
The Spaniard carded a final round of 69 for a one shot win ahed of Quentin Debove of France.
