TGL’s first-ever triple-header delivered some incredible golf shots — and memorable reactions.
Take, for instance, Tommy Fleetwood’s unofficial ace on Bluebonnet. These remarkable shots provided plenty of entertainment for the fans inside the SoFi Centre, and probably just as much fun for those watching from home.
Along with the towering drives and precise iron play, Monday’s thrilling triple-header also saw five chip-ins. By the end of the day, it was hard to keep track of them all. So, I thought I’d recap and rank the stunning chip-ins from TGL’s triple-header yesterday.
The criteria? I’ll be evaluating each chip-in based on three factors: difficulty, execution, and flair.
Let’s dive in.
5. Min Woo Lee calls Dr. Chipinski

I’d love to rank this shot higher, especially for Min Woo Lee’s celebration at the end. However, the shot itself doesn’t quite match the difficulty of others on this list. Bay Golf Club was already leading Atlanta Drive Golf Club by two points, and while it might seem like a tough shot to the armchair golfers, this textbook bump-and-run was no challenge for Lee’s superior short game. After executing it perfectly, Lee topped off his chip-in with a celebratory shout to Dr. Chipinski. If celebrations were the only criteria, this would be my number one.
4. Lucas Glover chips in and JT does a somersault

Although this shot was similar to Lee’s earlier effort, the stakes were much higher when Lucas Glover stepped up to hit this long chip off the front of the green. It was the final hole of the triple format, and Atlanta Drive Golf Club was trailing by two points. They urgently needed something to spark a comeback. Enter Glover, who nailed the perfect chip. As the ball rolled in, the crowd erupted, and teammate Justin Thomas even performed a somersault. But what made this shot truly impressive was Glover’s calm composure after sinking it. Instead of celebrating, he simply picked up his clubs, showing that for him, this was just another day at the office.
3. Keegan sinks a high-lofted shot over the bunker

Keegan Bradley’s chip-in had it all: difficulty, pressure, and a solid celebration with his teammates. That’s why I’ve ranked it as the third-best chip-in from yesterday’s TGL matches. To set the scene, Boston Common Golf was one point down heading into the singles showdown and needed a morale boost. Bradley’s approach into the par-5 sailed over the green but managed to stay on, narrowly avoiding the penalty area just yards beyond. His second shot left him with a tricky 74-yard pitch over a bunker, which he had to land on a downhill lie. However, this proved no challenge for Bradley’s wedge game. His high-lofted shot landed softly on the green, took a couple of bounces, and trickled into the hole. With that hole-out, Bradley clinched the hole, drawing the match level and giving his team a huge momentum boost with only five holes remaining.
2. Justin Thomas’s greenside save sends the match into overtime

JT’s chip-in might have been the most thrilling of the day. It was the final hole of the singles showdown, and Atlanta Drive Golf Club was one point behind. Thomas’ opponent, Sahith Theegala, had just taken two shots to escape the bunker, leaving the door open for Thomas, who was lying two over a seemingly straightforward uphill chip. Then, the unexpected happened. Thomas left it short, and the ball rolled back toward his feet. After a brief moment of frustration, he set up for a shot almost identical to the one he’d just mis-hit. This time, the pressure didn’t faze him. Thomas executed the chip flawlessly. The ball sped across the green and slammed into the back of the cup. That remarkable shot sent the match into overtime.
1. Tommy Fleetwood’s overtime hole-out

This was an easy choice. After one of the strangest occurrences in TGL history a couple of weeks ago, Tommy Fleetwood finally had his redemption. The Englishman was on a hot streak during his TGL match against Atlanta Drive Golf Club, even putting on a short game clinic during the closest-to-the-pin contest. In overtime, the players faced a tough uphill pitch to a tricky hole location perched atop a plateau on the green. Fleetwood, however, chose a different approach than those before him. Rather than landing his shot long, he used his knowledge and finesse around the greens to leave it short, allowing the ball to roll up and trickle in. While his wedge skills earned him a point, it wasn’t enough to clinch the match. Still, his remarkable performance around the greens earned him the top spot on this list — so that’s something, I suppose.
I can’t wait to see how tonight’s match between Jupiter Links Golf Club and New York Golf Club compares to the excitement we witnessed yesterday.
