Golf fans will get a behind the scenes view of Rory McIlroy’s shock filing for divorce just before last year’s PGA Championship as the trailer for Full Swing Season 3 was released on Netflix.

The series airs in Ireland on March 6 and will feature seven episodes with McIlroy’s bombshell decision to file for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll featuring in episode three.

The 35-year-old arrived at Valhalla Country Club just hours after the news broke. He finished the week in a share of 12th place as Xander Schauffele clinched his maiden major title.

McIlroy refused to answer questions about his personal life in the pre-tournament press conference.

“Everyone’s phones start blowing up,” a narrator says as the teaser coverage cuts to McIlroy’s arrival for his pre-tournament press conference at Valhalla.

McIlroy’s divorce petition was dismissed by a court in Palm Beach before the US Open in Pinehurst last June and the Holywood man admits in the Full Swing episode that: “I’ve struggled with trying to be the best golfer, the best husband and the best dad…”

He later told The Guardian: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

McIlroy features heavily in an additional episode alongside Shane Lowry as the pair combined to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the episode focuses on their close off course relationship.
