Tiger Woods will make his competitive return to golf at next week’s Genesis Invitational, tournament organisers have confirmed.
Woods, who had back surgery last September to address spasms, will launch his 2025 season at Torrey Pines where he will also act as tournament host.
A post on Genesis Invitational’s official X account said: “Tournament host Tiger Woods is committed to play in the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines.”
The 49-year-old competed just five times last season, missing three cuts and withdrawing once with a 60th place finish at the Masters his best result.
Woods has been on television screens in recent weeks. He and his 15-year-old son Charlie finished second in the PNC Championship in December, while the 15-time major winner has impressed for Jupiter Links in the TGL.
The Genesis Invitational is being staged at Torrey Pines between February 13 and 16 after being moved from the Riviera Country Club following the impact of the wildfires in Los Angeles.
Woods has 82 PGA Tour wins, eight of them coming at Torrey Pines including the 2008 US Open.
