Conor Purcell’s consistent run of form has seen him break into the top-20 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings on the Challenge Tour as he chases his goal of earning a DP World Tour card.

The top-45 players on the Challenge Tour will qualify for November’s Grand Final with the top-20 players in the order of merit, earning full cards for next year’s DP World Tour season.

Purcell has taken advantage of the UAE swing on the second-tier with finishes of T4 and T6 to rise into 17th on the Road to Mallorca.

The Portmarnock man has also climbed to a career high 520th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The Challenge Tour will embark on a European swing from next month and the 26-year-old is hoping to kick on and cement his place in the top-20.

“It was a close call last year but it gives me some chances this year, just a step in the right direction but it’s about getting better every year and if I can do that I’ll be happy.

“I want to see how things go. Top-20 is first priority and if I can play some DP World Tour events and do well out there I will.”
