Lauren Walsh fell back to level-par and six shots off the pace heading into the final round of the Calatayud Ladies Open.
Walsh carded a second round of 74 after she had opened with a 70 as Hannah Screen of England leads on six-under-par.
Walsh registered three bogeys including two on the par fives and only had one birdie on her round which came at the third on what was a slow day.
Screen leads by two shots after a 69. The 24-year-old from London, England has a six-under-par total heading into the final round of the 54-hole tournament at Gambito Golf Calatayud.
On a windy and wet morning, Screen opened with an eagle on the third. She then bogeyed the par-4 holes six and eight but bounced back with birdies on 10 and 11 before rolling in another on 16.
“I’m happy. I played well both yesterday and today and I’m just excited to see what happens tomorrow.”
In her rookie year on tour, Screen has been in the leading pack a couple of times and is now feeling more experienced and ready to clinch victory.
Her best finish this year to date was second at the LETAS Link Series.
“This time around I want to make sure I keep my rhythm. I know in the past, I’ve got a little bit quick and it’s hard not to get ahead of yourself. I’ll just be trying to keep myself distracted as much as I can.
“Tomorrow with the weather I just need to keep everything dry. It’s cliché but I need to take it one shot at a time especially if there’s a lot of wind.
“A win would be great; I’ve been here before and to get over the line would be great. I don’t want to jinx it though.”
