Stephanie Meadow gave her Race to CME Globe chances a shot in the arm with a superb final round of 65 as Angel Yin claimed the Buick LPGA Shanghai.

Meadow played her last 36 holes without a bogey and moved to twelve-under-par and into a tie for 8th place.

The Jordanstown native picked up a brace of birdies on the 4th and 5th before adding another pair on the seventh and eighth.

After a fifth birdie of the day on the 13th, Meadow finished strong with a brace of closing birdies and a storming weekend.

“Just hit really solid iron shots and hit the fairways, gave myself a ton of opportunities, and made some putts,” said Meadow.

“Just stayed really patient and trying to get comfortable about being way under par, and doing the same thing and not being too perfectionistic.”

The top-60 and ties qualify for the Race to CME Globe Tour Championship and Meadow (71st) will close in on the top-60 after her good finish.

“It’s great. Obviously being sponsored by CME, the last thing I want to do is not be there. Terry, I want to be there for Terry. I know Sarah has played really well last week in Texas and I saw that and I was like, all right, come on.

“So, you know, just trying to make them proud because they do so much for us and the tour in general. Hopefully I can keep plucking along here and make my way in.”

In the end, Meadow was only two shots off eventual winner Yin who edged Lilia Vu in a playoff after the pair couldn’t be separated on fourteen-under-par.
