Stephanie Meadow made a big move on day three of the Buick LPGA Shanghai with a round of 66 to move into the top-25.

Meadow carded six birdies in a bogey-free round to climb to five-under-par but she lies seven shots back of Swedish Solheim Cup star, Maja Stark and Angel Yin.

Without a cut to worry about, the Jordanstown woman took the chance to make strides on Saturday and will be looking to continue that in her final round and make way in the Race to CME Globe Rankings but at present, she is ranked 71st in the Race to CME Globe rankings with just a handful of events left before the LPGA season finale back in Florida.

The top-60 qualify for the Race to CME Globe Tour Championship.

Sweden’s Stark teed off with a one shot overnight lead and despite carding a solid two-under 70 she was caught by Yin who took advantage of moving day with a superb 65 to join Stark on twelve-under-par.

Pavarisa Yokutan is a shot off the pace in solo third with Lilia Vu, Ariya Jutanugarn and Mi Hyang Lee all in a share of fourth place on ten-under-par.

“I think I played a little bit better than yesterday actually because I hit better shots. Obviously didn’t make as many putts as I did yesterday, but overall my game felt better. Obviously it was a little bit longer out there, as you said,” explained Stark.

“But, yeah, hit some better drives and more straight this time.”
