Team Europe headlines star-studded BMW PGA Championship field

All 12 European Ryder Cup players will tee it up at Wentworth

All 12 members of the European side that will take on the United States in the 2023 Ryder Cup will join Captain Luke Donald in an exciting BMW PGA Championship field, with remaining ticket options selling fast.

Defending champion Shane Lowry, World Number Two and Three Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, newly-crowned FedExCup Champion Viktor Hovland, Major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose and home heroes Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton all return to Wentworth Club for the fourth Rolex Series event of the season from September 12-17, 2023.

Ludvig Åberg, who sealed his first DP World Tour title last week, and two-time PGA TOUR winner Sepp Straka are set to appear at the BMW PGA Championship for the first time, and will also make their Ryder Cup debuts alongside Nicolai Højgaard and Robert MacIntyre – both winners around Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, the venue for the latest edition of golf’s greatest team contest.

Captain Donald is a two-time BMW PGA Championship winner, and the former World Number One will also be joined in the field by four of his five Vice Captains – Europe’s victorious 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn, Francesco Molinari, winner of both The Open and the BMW PGA Championship in 2018, and former Ryder Cup stars Edoardo Molinari and Nicolas Colsaerts.

Weekend general admission tickets for the BMW PGA Championship have sold out for the second consecutive year, with more than 100,000 spectators expected to line the fairways throughout the week to see a host of global players including Australian Major champion Adam Scott, American Billy Horschel, winner of the BMW PGA Championship in 2021, and his compatriot Tom Hoge, who will make his debut alongside fellow PGA TOUR winner Tom Kim of Korea.

Major champions Danny Willett and Pádraig Harrington – the 2021 European Ryder Cup Captain – and Rolex Series winners Min Woo Lee, Victor Perez and Aaron Rai are also set to take on Wentworth’s famed West Course alongside a host of fellow DP World Tour winners including New Zealand’s Ryan Fox, Dane Rasmus Højgaard, Pablo Larrazábal of Spain, South African Thriston Lawrence, Pole Adrian Meronk, Italy’s Guido Migliozzi and Yannik Paul of Germany.

One of the highlights of the British sporting calendar, the BMW PGA Championship brings together some of the world’s best golfers, globally renowned music acts and celebrity stars in a highly-anticipated Festival of Golf.

Away from the golf course, the unmissable entertainment in the vibrant Spectator Village includes a DJ set from Locksmith, founding member of Rudimental, on Wednesday afternoon, with GRAMMY®-nominated producer Jax Jones and indie rock band The Wombats performing on the Show Stage over the weekend.

The action at Wentworth Club begins with the G4D Tour’s G4D @ BMW PGA Championship event, as spectators get the chance to watch some of the world’s best golfers with a disability competing on the same layout as their DP World Tour counterparts on Tuesday September 12. Tuesday is also the BMW PGA Championship practice day, allowing fans to see some of their favourite golfers in a more relaxed environment.

That is followed by the star-studded Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am which will bring together global celebrities – including Hollywood A-lister Tom Holland, football superstar Gareth Bale and England cricketers James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Harry Brook and Sir Andrew Strauss – with some of golf’s most famous players in a fun-filled curtain raiser to the main event, the BMW PGA Championship, which tees off on Thursday September 14.

General admission tickets are available from Tuesday to Friday, with availability very limited on Friday. Limited Premium Experience options are still available for Saturday in the Green on 18, within the imposing Championship Pavilion on the West Course’s famous closing hole, and The Ballroom, which is located inside Wentworth’s Clubhouse.
