The Island amateur Kevin LeBlanc topped the Open Championship Regional Qualifier in Baltray.

LeBlanc carded a five under 67 to win by two shots and he will advance to final qualifying in the journey to the 151st Open Championship in Royal Liverpool.

Tullamore’s Stuart Grehan was the early leader after posting 69 for a clubhouse target of three-under and that proved good enough for a share of second place alongside West Cliffs professional Brendan McCarroll.

Local amateur Gerard Dunne (Co Louth GC) put course knowledge to good use with a two-under 70 to qualify in a share of fourth with Brian McCormack.

The last two spots in the bid for Holyoke went to Daniel Mulligan and Welshman Jake Hapgood who emerged from a six-man playoff after being tied on 71s.

Derry professional Michael McGeady, Jonathan Yates, Liam Grehan and amateur James Fox were unlucky to miss out.
