A second-round, four-under 68 sees Olivia Mehaffey climb to a tie for 15th ahead of the third and final round of the LET’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open at Royal Beroun Golf Club.

An opening two-over 74 may not have been that impressive on paper, but blustery conditions and a tricky setup saw the former Arizona State Sun Devil go into round two just six shots off the lead, and after four pars to begin round two, she’d make amends for a double-bogey in round one by birdieing the par-5 fifth today, before adding two more at seven and nine to make the turn at -3 for the day.

A bogey at the par-3 11th halted the charge somewhat, but she’d respond with back-to-back birdies on the par-4 14th and par-5 15th to get to -4 for the round, and she’d par her way home where she’d reach the clubhouse at -2 for the tournament and rise to a tie for 15th on the leaderboard.

Though she trails 36-hole leader Diksha Dagar by eight, she’s just three off second and a low round on Sunday could see her post a number that is in with a shout should the 2019 South African Women’s Open champion stutter on her way home.

Dagar’s seven-under 65 was the joint lowest of the day, as she carded five birdies and an eagle to open up a five-stroke gap over the chasing trio of Spain’s Ana Pelaez Trivino and Cara Gainer and Gabriella Crowley from England.

Only Agathe Sauzon could match Dagar’s seven-under-par 65, but the Frenchwoman is six strokes back after an opening round of 75.

“Throughout my round I was in very good form and my hitting was good. I putted very well today,” said Dagar, who has posted three top ten finishes in her last four tournaments, including a tie for third in the Amundi German Masters last week.

“I’m feeling confident. My main focus is to play good golf and at the moment I’m enjoying it.”
