John-Ross Galbraith couldn’t build on his opening four-under that saw him enter round two just one stroke off the lead, but despite shooting a two-over 73, he goes into the final round in a tie for 15th, and he’s joined by Cameron Raymond, Conor O’Rourke and Rowan Lester.

It was a game of two halves for the Whitehead man in the second round, as he’d make four birdies to just one bogey on the front nine and turn at -3 for the day, before struggling on the back nine with three bogeys and a crushing double-bogey on the last to end the day at -2.

Cameron Raymond is one shot behind Galbraith after following his opening one-under with a level-par effort in round two and lies T24 alongside Conor O’Rourke after the K Club man shot a one-under round of 70.

The round of the day from an Irish perspective came from Hermitage’s Rowan Lester who, after an opening 75 that left him well outside the cut mark, responded with an excellent four-under 67 in round two to make the 36-hole cut with a shot to spare.

England’s Tom Shadbolt is the solo leader going into the final round with hopes of going wire-to-wire after backing up his opening five-under with a four-under in round two to top the board at -9. He leads fellow countryman Jordan Goodwin by one stroke, with Brandon Robinson Thompson one further adrift on -7.
