Two time PGA Tour winner Séamus Power, European Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood, and the latest World Golf Championships winner Sam Burns are the latest stars to commit to the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open, with tickets on sale at etg.golf/GSOTickets

The trio join an exciting field at the Rolex Series event including World Number Two Scottie Scheffler and his fellow Major winners, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose and Justin Thomas, as well as defending champion Xander Schauffele and Scotland’s number one Robert MacIntyre.

For West Waterford star Power, it will be a maiden Genesis Scottish Open appearance as he aims to win in three consecutive years, following his 2021 Barbasol Championship and 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship titles on the PGA TOUR. The 36-year-old was a member of the Great Britain & Ireland team at the Hero Cup in January and he now has his sights set on a debut appearance in the Ryder Cup at Marco Simone in September.

Power said: “I’ve heard a lot about the Genesis Scottish Open and I’m excited to be able to add the event to my schedule this summer. There’s a lot to play for over the next few months, and I’m looking forward to having a tilt at the title in East Lothian.”

Former European Number One Fleetwood is aiming to go one better than his runner up berth in Scotland’s national open in 2020, when he tees it up at Renaissance Club on July 13-16, 2023. The six-time DP World Tour winner’s T4 finish at last year’s Genesis Scottish Open was one of five top fives in the 2022 season, including both The Open and US PGA Championship, and his successful Nedbank Golf Challenge title defence.

Fleetwood said: “I always enjoy playing the Genesis Scottish Open, and it’s an event I would love to win, particularly after coming so close a couple of times in recent years. It’s always a great event to play in the week before The Open as well, and I’m looking forward to an exciting couple of weeks in East Lothian and Merseyside.”

World Number 13 Burns will make his third consecutive Genesis Scottish Open appearance this July. The 26-year-old sealed his fifth PGA TOUR title in March when he stormed to victory in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play with a 6&5 win over Cameron Young having ended Scheffler’s title defence earlier in the day.

He said: “I’m looking forward to coming back to the home of golf again this summer for the Genesis Scottish Open. I’ve enjoyed teeing it up at Renaissance Club over the past few years, and playing in front of the Scottish fans is always a highlight.”

The Genesis Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, counting on both the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and the FedExCup, and boasts Genesis, the luxury automotive brand from South Korea, as title sponsor. Genesis title-sponsor two tournaments on the PGA TOUR’s 2022-2023 schedule, with Jon Rahm triumphing at the Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club in February.

The Genesis Scottish Open benefits from the continued commitment of the Scottish Government, managed by VisitScotland, and retains its place in golf’s global calendar the week ahead of The Open as part of these agreements through to 2025.
