Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow are both in action as the LPGA Tour hits Los Angeles for the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro.

Maguire returns to action after a momentum building weekend saw her come from four shots below the cut line to finishing in the top-25 at the Chevron Championship.

Maguire birdied four of her last seven holes on the back nine on Friday to make the cut on the number.

Meadow also went on a back nine charge on Friday but having found herself seven-over, she missed the cut by one on plus two but she will take encouragement from how she battled back from the abyss.

Maguire will be hoping for some improved iron play after slightly going off the boil in recent weeks.

“My approach shots weren’t good enough this week. It was tricky, I made a lot of good up and downs but it was difficult to shoot low the way I was hitting it into the greens so need to work on that,” Maguire said last week.

The Cavan native tees off alongside the red hot Georgia Hall and Andrea Lee.

Meadow is grouped with Frida Kinhult and Annie Park as she looks to  get back to some form.

Lilia Vu won her maiden major title last week and she will play her first tournament as a major champion on home soil.

The JM Eagle LA Championship is the first of four brand new events on this season’s record-breaking schedule. Next up is the Mizuho Americas Open – which will include 24 elite amateurs competing in a concurrent AJGA Invitational – in June, then the Maybank Championship in October and finally the Grant Thornton Invitational – an event co-sanctioned by both the LPGA and PGA Tour which will feature 16 players from each tour – in December. All the new events offer over $2 million in purses with the JM Eagle LA Championship offering up $3 million in prize money this weekend.
