The Irish men’s team are 12th while the women prop up the table at the European Nations Championship in Sotogrande.

Malone’s Matthew McClean shares eleventh place in the men’s section on four-over after a third round 76 which leaves him nine off the pace set by Albert Hansson of Sweden.

Galgorm Castle’s Joshua Hill is next best of the Irish in 31st place on plus eight after a three-over 75 while Peter O’Keeffe and Robert Moran are further down the leaderboard on nineteen-over and twenty-two-over respectively.

The Boys in Green are a collective twenty-nine-over with Spain the front runners on plus six heading into the final round.

Things aren’t much better for the Girls in Green although Lahinch’s Aideen Walsh did move up seven places to 27th on +21 with Emma Fleming and Katie Poots on +22 and +24.
