Leona Maguire carded a level-par 71 in the final round of the DIO Implant LA Open as she settled for a 72-hole total of three-over-par.
China’s Ruoning Yin held off England’s Georgia Hall to claim her maiden LPGA Tour title.
Yin shot a one-under 70 to win by one on fifteen-under despite Hall putting in weekend efforts of 62 and 67 without dropping a shot.
Yin had a bizarre front nine. The 20-year-old opened with a par but her next par would come on the eleventh.
She birdied the second hole before carding three successive bogeys. This was followed by four birdies in a row before a dropped shot on ten.
Hall could have forced herself into a second playoff in as many weeks but her five-foot birdie putt stayed above ground.
“That means a lot, not just for me, also for China,” Yin said. “Shanshan is always my goal here, and I think she got 10 tour win here, and, yeah, it’s just my first one. She’s definitely the person I look up to.

“I fought so hard today,” Yin said. “I just made three bogey in a row on the front nine. I’m so happy that I fought back.”
For former Women’s Open champ Hall it’s back-to-back second place finishes.
“I was really happy just to be in this position on the weekend, especially my 9 under yesterday,” Hall said. “Just really proud of myself again. Just really gutted not to at least get to another playoff. But a bogey-free round on the final day in tough conditions out there, so just on to the next one.”
