Shane Lowry has been clipped into 50/1 from 66/1 with BoyleSports to get back to winning ways on the PGA Tour this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.

The Offaly man suffered a family bereavement last week, but three under-par rounds helped him bag a fifth place finish at the Honda Classic, where he was accompanied by new caddie Darren Reynolds.

With signs that the 2019 Open champion is returning to form, the chances of Lowry being the first Irish golfer to don the green jacket at The Masters have also been backed down to 28/1 from 33/1, with a second career major this year now rated a 10/1 shot from 12/1 in BoyleSports’ latest betting for the big four.

In-form Jon Rahm, who has won three of his last five tournaments, is set to tee off 11/2 favourite at Bay Hill this week ahead of Rory McIlroy, who is 8/1 to top the leaderboard on Sunday evening having finished in the top ten in five of his last six appearances at the event.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “His record at Bay Hill is nothing to write home about but with a new man on the bag, Shane Lowry has showed positive signs recently and punters are clearly eyeing a big week.”
