Rosslare’s Paul Murphy and Woodbrook’s Tom Dowdall both progressed to the Final Stage of Alps Tour Qualifying School where they will join Galway’s Ronan Mullarney who led Thursday’s qualifying in Acaya.

Murphy and Dowdall carded second rounds of 70 to secure their spots inside the top-25 and book their places in next week’s Final Stage.

Murphy was solid in his second round carding birdies on the fourth and ninth holes and cancelling them out with dropped shots on the eighth and twelfth holes.

The former US college golfer finished two shots above the cut line on two-over.

A birdie on 16 lifted Dowdall into the top-25 as he finished on three-over and avoided any potential countbacks as the cut fell on four-over-par.

Having recovered from an opening bogey he posted birdies on holes four and nine before two dropped shots in three holes left him needing a birdie to avoid any doubt over his place in the final stage.

An eagle at the last gave Dutchman Rodi Vlasveld the win as he carded an eight-under 62 to roar through the field and win by two shots.
