Leona Maguire and Stephanie tee it up in Korea for the BMW Ladies Championship as the LPGA Tour begins its Asian swing.

Maguire tees off in the opening three-ball alongside Stephanie Kyriacou and Jennifer Song as she returns to action following a solid performance at the Aramco Series in New York.

The Cavan native shot rounds of 74, 72 and 69 for a one-under total, ten shots behind eventual winner Lexi Thompson.

Team Maguire fared better but ultimately came up five shots shy on nineteen-under behind Team Gustavsson.

The 27-year-old will skip next month’s event in Japan to focus on the FLorida run in which consists of the Pelican Championship and the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

It has been a great year for Maguire who became Ireland’s maiden LPGA Tour winner in February and she is hoping to end 2022 on a high.

“CME is the biggest one left on the schedule,” said Maguire. “It’s almost like a mini major for us with the way the purse has gone so yeah, get ready for Pelican and CME and finish the year off as strong I can.

“It has been a great year either way but it would be nice to finish it with a good bonus in Florida.”

Jordanstown native Meadow is hoping to maintain her late Tour Championship bid this week.

It’s been a really consistent season for the 30-year-old after some heroic final tournament escapes to keep her card in recent years. Meadow has missed just seven cuts in 21 events, earning two top-10 finishes.

This time around instead of looking over her shoulder at the card retention bubble she is looking towards the top-60 and a place at the CME Group Tour Championship.

At 78th in the rankings she needs a good couple of events to secure her spot but it has undoubtedly been a season to build on.

Meadow tees off alongside Alison Corpuz and Pornanong Phatlum.
