Australia’s Min Woo Lee was three shots further back in solo third, two ahead of local boy Angel Hidalgo, whose fourth-placed finish moved him to 88th on the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.

Otaegui opened his round with three straight pars before picking up a first birdie of the day from 16 feet on the fourth.

He made it back-to-back birdies with a lengthy putt from the semi-rough on the fifth before producing a good par save at the eighth to remain seven shots clear at the summit.

After converting his 18-foot birdie putt at the ninth to turn in 32, Otaegui missed a birdie chance from six feet on the tenth before surrendering a bogey at the next hole.
