Castle’s Robert Moran comfortably made it through to the second stage of DP World Tour Qualifying School following some fine play during stage one at Montado Golf Resort.

With the top-23 and ties all making the move to stage two, Moran was easily in the pack after rounds of 68, 69 and 68 to open with but his final round 66 did all the damage.

Moran was quick out of the blocks on the final day, opening with three birdies on his first three holes and after a couple of pars he went on another birdie blitz from the 6th, birdieing 6, 7 and 8 and he turned in 30!

With all the hard work done he had a less stressful back nine which included just the one birdie on the 15th having carded his only bogey of the day on 14.

Moran finished up in T6 position with 271 (-17).
