It’s been a stellar rookie season for Padraig Harrington on the PGA Tour Champions and he’s well positioned to continue his rich vein of form at the Ascension Charity Classic.

Harrington, with two wins and four runner-up finishes for the season so far, is 11-under par for the tournament and carries a one shot lead into the final round in St. Louis.

Reaching the turn in 32 strokes with four birdies, Harrington dropped his first shot of the day on the 10th but responded immediately with birdie on 11. Another dropped shot came at the par 4 14th but the response this time was event better with three birdies on the bounce before his third dropped shot of the round on 18 saw him sign for a five-under par 66.

Steve Stricker and Bernhard Langer are chasing hard though and both sit on 10-under par, just one behind Harrington after second rounds of 65 and 67 respectively.

Darren Clarke isn’t far behind either with the Northern Irishman adding a 67 to his opening 68 to be on seven-under par and in T7 position heading to the final round.
