Shane Lowry graciously came to the rescue after his BMW PGA Championship pro-am partner ended-up smashing the car windscreen of a journalist’s car.
Lowry’s partner horribly shanked his shot from the middle of the 18thfairway on the West Course clear over the crowd gathered on the right side of the final green, clearing the roadway at the back of the grandstand and somehow finding the windscreen of the car owned by Today’s Golfer digital editor Rob Jerram.
Jerram, at the time, was working away in the media centre.
To his enormous credit, Lowry made every effort to get in touch with Jerram and then agree to pay for a replacement windscreen.
Lowry later tweeted a video of the incident with the caption – “If the owner sees this DM me – we need to get you a new windscreen”.
My Pro Am partner's shot into 18 today. 😂😂 If the owner sees this DM me… we need to get you a new windscreen. 👍🏻☘️ #shank pic.twitter.com/ScDDZfLAIr
