Paul McGinley and Brendan McGovern are both locked together on two-over-par heading into the final day of the Staysure PGA Seniors at Formby Golf Club after the pair endured contrasting days.

McGinley has continued his recovery from an opening 75 with rounds of 71 and a level-par 72 on day three.

The 2014 Ryder Cup captain recovered from a horror spell before the turn with a back nine of 32.

Birdies on 10, 12 and 17 completed an excellent inward half after a rollercoaster front nine.

The Dubliner got off to the ideal start with birdies on the second and third before disaster struck as he carded three bogeys and a double from the sixth hole.

McGovern just didn’t get anything going on Saturday afternoon carding four bogeys and a birdie on his way to a 75.

The Headfort man dropped shots on the sixth, eighth, thirteenth and eighteenth with his lone birdie arriving on the 15th.

Mark McNulty is four-over after a four-over 76.

Brazil’s Adison Da Silva was in a league of his own carding another bogey-free five-under 67 to stretch his lead to seven shots at sixteen-under.

Da Silva has only dropped one shot this week – coming on the 13th in round two. The Brazilian carded three birdies and an eagle as he looks to complete a wire to wire victory on Sunday.

A birdie on the par-3 5th was followed by a stunning eagle on the par-5 8th to turn in 34 before birdies on 11 and 17 saw him pull away from the chasing pack.
