Lauren Walsh showed her class with a superb back nine of 30 to card a three-under 68 in the Esparto Santo Trophy – The World Amateur Team Championships in le Golf National in France.
The Castlewarden native turned in two-over after bogeys on the first, eighth and ninth while she did birdie the 2nd.
However, the two-time Curtis Cup player turned on the style on her way to the clubhouse including four successive birdies in the middle of her back nine.
A birdie on the 10th was followed by four on the spin from the 11th while a dropped shot on 17 was cancelled out by a brilliant closing birdie to lift her to three-over and into the top-28 in the individual leaderboard.
Elm Park’s Anna Foster carded a three-over 74 to drift out to eight-over while Kirkistown’s Beth Coulter is on fourteen-over after a round of 74 of her own.
It leaves Ireland perched inside the top-20 in a share of 18th on nine-over.
Germany hold a four shot advantage heading into the final day on thirteen-under, spearheaded by Helen Briem who shot a 66 to edge into the lead by the minimum on seven-under.
