Golf Ireland announce selections for World Amateur Teams

Golf Ireland has selected six players for the upcoming World Amateur Team Championships in Paris.

The 29th women’s championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy will be held from 24-27 August and the 32nd men’s championship for the Eisenhower Trophy from 31 August-3 September.

Le Golf National and Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Brèteche will play host to both Championships. The 2018 Ryder Cup was held at Le Golf National, and it will also be the venue for golf at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Women’s team will compete from 24-27 August and consists of Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle), Anna Foster (Elm Park) and Lauren Walsh (Castlewarden).

The Men’s team will compete one week later from 31 August to 3 September. Matt McClean (Malone), Rob Moran (Castle) and Mark Power (Kilkenny) make up the Men’s side.
