The 2022 Qatar Masters is back on the 2022 DP World Tour schedule after being dropped due to Covid-related travel issues.

The Tour announced the event will now be held March 24-27 this year, back at the Doha Golf Club after a two-year absence at the Jose Maria Olazabal-designed course at Education City.

Frenchman Antoine Rozner is the defending champion having posted a closing 67 to win at eight-under-par and hold off Italian Guido Migliozzie, South Africa’s Darren Fichardt, and Indian star Gaganjeet Bhullar, all who finished tied second, one back.

Scotland’s Andy Coltart was the inaugural winner in 1998, waking-up for the final round to learn he had not only secured the 1997/98 Australasian Tour order of merit title but also with it, a place in the 1998 Open Championship. Fellow Scot Paul Lawrie made it a Tartan victory double winning in 1999 and then capturing golf’s oldest major in July at Carnoustie.
