Pádraig Harrington pocketed a cool $1.7 million from sixteen starts on the PGA Tour Champions as he enjoyed a three-win season on the over-50s circuit.

Harrington rolled in an eight-footer on the last hole of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship to hold on to fourth place in the season long standings to cap off another fine season on both the senior and main tours.

The Dubliner’s attentions will turn to the PNC Championship from December 20-22 before packing away the clubs for a well earned winter break after a season that also saw him finish in T22 at the Open in brutal conditions in Royal Troon and T12 at the BMW PGA Championship.

The three-time major winner is feeling good about his game, particularly after the second half of the season and if he can tune in his mental game, perhaps more wins will come his way in 2025.

“Struggled on the greens this week but in general this was one of my better years putting,” said Harrington.

“Long game turned around nicely in the last few months. So unusually I’ve nothing new to work on this winter, just mental game stuff and speed.”

New Zealand’s Alker finished in a share of second last night, one shot behind Bernhard Langer, but it proved enough to capture his second Schwab Cup points race title in three years as he leapfrogged Ernie Els at the death.

“Yeah, very special. You win one and you go, well, can I do another? It’s a season-long race, there’s a lot of golf to be played and the competition’s getting better, so to have No. 2 is pretty special. Support’s been amazing, to have a home game. It would be nice to win it all today, the whole lot, but hey, I’ve got the Schwab Cup and that’s important to me.”
