Five Irish ladies set for Welsh Stroke Play Championship

The second of the Home Union Open Stroke Play Championships will take place at Aberdovey in Wales from May 4 – 6. The Welsh Ladies Open Amateur Stroke Play, which was won by Olivia Mehaffey (RCDL) in 2015 and 2016, is a 54 hole stroke play event played over three days.

Fresh from their 2018 Curtis Cup team selection Paula Grant (Lisburn), Shannon McWilliam (Scotland), Lily May Humphreys (England) and Sophie Lamb (England) as well as a host of Home Internationals will tee it up at the Welsh course.

Alongside Grant, four other Irish will compete at the event, which takes place a week before the Irish Open Stroke Play Championship at Co. Louth. European Universities Champion Shannon Burke (Ballinrobe) will be joined by Georgia Carr (Milltown), Elisa Corcoran (Grange) and Canice Screene (Hermitage).
