Lauren Walsh continued her impressive start to the 2022 college golf season in the United States as she secured her third top-10 in four events.

Walsh shot rounds of 71, 69 and 73 to share fourth place at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invite as Wake Forest finished second on the team leaderboard.

The Castlewarden native finished on three-under alongside teammate Emma Migliaccio, four shots adrift of eventual winner Jensen Castle.

The two-time Curtis Cup star finished with back-to-back birdies in round two to move to within three of the lead heading into the final day.

A scrappy run of four bogeys in six holes – with two birdies either side of the turn undid her progress in round three but she did finish well with a birdie on the 16th.

It’s Walsh’s second top-5 finish backing up a runner-up at the opening ANNIKA Intercollegiate, while she was also 8th at last week’s Stephens Cup.

Meanwhile, Mairead Martin of Louisville shared 20th place as her college took fifth place in the team standings.

Martin finished on five-over for the 54 holes.

Elsewhere East of Ireland champion Alex Maguire finished T21 thanks to a two-under-par 70 at the Little Rock Golf Classic.
