The popular Newry, Mourne and Down Junior Golf Summer Trophy returns for a second instalment this year as some of the game’s future stars compete from August 14-16 across three outstanding Irish venues.

Open to all boys and girls under the age of 18, the competition, designed to provide our game’s budding young golfers with the chance to develop their skills in an outstanding golfing environment, will be played over three spectacular courses; Kilkeel, Warrenpoint and Royal County Down Golf Clubs.

As well as a professionally run tournament affording fledgling players the opportunity to experience the world of golf, there will be prize categories on offer to suit all ages and playing abilities ensuring a fair challenge but lots of fun for those taking part.

In an added bonus for families encouraged to come along, those not taking part in the competition itself and without an official handicap are encouraged to showcase their skills in a flag competition that will complement an exciting and sure to be enjoyable, three days of golf.

Entry to the competition itself is £20.

The initiative was introduced in 2018 by Newry, Mourne & Down District Council in conjunction with the Golfing Union of Ireland (Ulster Branch), the Irish Ladies Golfing Union Ltd. (Northern District), Warrenpoint, Kilkeel and Royal County Down Golf Clubs.
