It was a full timesheet for the hottest day of the year so far on Sunday as the Irish Golfer Event Series stopped off at Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club in Co. Wexford.

Given the ideal conditions, it was no surprise to see the scoring match the scorching temperatures with 40+ point hauls winning the prizes in Categories One, Two and Three. Well done to Denis Maher who lit up Category One with 40 points, taking home the top prize of a TaylorMade SIM2 Driver while also booking his place in November’s Grand Final at the K Club.

In Category Two, the ever-impressive James Farrell took top honours on BB9 with his 42 points. James collected the SIM2 Max Driver but there was consolation for second place finisher Jimmy Fluskey, whose 42 points sees him through to November’s Grand Final as James has already qualified – twice! Super playing.

In Category Three, Anna Stapleton was a resounding winner of the ladies event with a whopping 40 points, taking home the SIM2 Max Driver and also booking her place at the K Club. Paul Tuohy and Gary Morrison collected the nearest the pin prizes while Oisin O’Brien’s brilliant score of 72 was good enough to collect the gross.

Big shout out goes to Caroline and her amazing team at Bunclody for hosting a wonderful day. Players coming in off the course were full of praise for the set-up with many saying it was the best golf course they’d seen in a long time. Thanks for making it a special experience for all our competitors.

Next up in the Series is Palmerstown House Estate this Friday, June 18. There are still limited spots available so if you haven’t got your name down already, don’t miss your chance to take on the new island green tenth hole at the stunning Kildare venue this week.
