Our latest Irish Golfer Event visited the links at Seapoint where blues skies obliged to ensure players were treated to a summer’s day in September on Sunday.

As ever, three categories were in operation boasting over €5,000 in prizes, and with a constant wind keeping players honest, there was hardly an inch given between competitors striving for their place in this year’s Grand Final.

In Category One, a hard-fought 36-points saw 11-handicap golfer Jim Connolly pip Pat Cooney to top honours on countback.

Connolly’s better back nine saw him take home a new TaylorMade SIM Driver plus a place in the Grand Final at the K Club.

Where 36 points was quite a modest number, the gloves were off in Category Two and the 40-point barrier was broken when Jimmy Donovan’s 41 point haul off 12 earned him a TaylorMade SIM Max Driver and his Grand Final Place.

In Category Three, Megan Griffith Keane captured the Ladies prize with a superb score of 39 points playing off 26. We’ll hopefully see Megan at the K Club sporting her new TaylorMade SIM Max Driver added to her arsenal after a brilliant winning tally.

In the Nearest the Pin competition, Paul Reilly threw a dart to 2 feet 6 inches and collected the prized Motocaddy S1 Electric Trolley. Kate Broad and Robert Brennan each took home a TaylorMade stand bag for taking out the Long Drive competitions while the Gross prize and a Sureshot Laser Rangefinder went to Kevin Connolly’s 76.

Thanks again to everyone who took part and well done to all of our winners, especially our category winners who we will see at our Grand Final later this year.
