Rory McIlroy Backed To Play All Five Matches For Europe At Ryder Cup

Rory McIlroy is one of the European Ryder Cup stars almost certain to play in every session according to the odds with BoyleSports ahead of tee-off at Marco Simone in Rome.

The Holywood man is an odds-on 1/8 shot with BoyleSports to be an ever-present for Europe and joins Jon Rahm (also 1/8) as the two most likely to feature in all five sessions for Luke Donald’s side.

Shane Lowry, who was named as one of Donald’s six wildcard picks, is a less likely 7/4 shot to play the maximum five matches, but has been clipped into 6/1 from 7/1 to be the top performer amongst the captain’s picks for Europe.

At 25/1 apiece, Rory McIlroy and America’s world number one Scottie Scheffler are the two prime candidates to finish the week with a clean sweep of five points and the world’s best-ranked duo also share favouritism to finish the week as top overall points scorer at 8/1.

Of the European rookies, Swedish sensation Ludvig Aberg is being singled out as a potential star at 6/4 to bag more points than fellow debutants Sepp Straka (11/4), Nicolai Hojgaard (3/1) and Robert MacIntrye (7/2).

Europe have won the last six Ryder Cups contested on home soil and while they look set to tee off as slight underdogs at 11/10, the betting is on a knife edge with the USA now clinging on to a narrow advantage at even money.
