Annabel Wilson recorded her second top-20 finish of the season as the UCLA women’s golf team captured their first title of the campaign at The Match in the Desert.
Lurgan’s Wilson, who played as an individual this week, was rock-solid around Superstition Mountain Golf Club in Arizona, signing for a two-under par round of 70 that included five birdies.
The No. 22 Bruins shot a collective 11-under on the back nine at The Match in the Desert to claim their first victory of the season.
Caroline Canales posted the best score of her career: a 7-under 65.#GoBruinshttps://t.co/zqrLv5CNsN

Clearly buoyed by her semifinal run in the U.S. Women’s Amateur last year, the talented Senior finished in a share of 11th place and will hope for more of the same as the U.S. collegiate season ramps up towards spring.
Getting back into the UCLA team will prove no easy feat, however, after they ran out narrow winners on a 12-under 276 total. Sophomore Carole Canales shot the best round of her collegiate career with a 7-under 65 to earn her first medal.
The Bruins’ 12-under performance is tied for the sixth-best score in relation to par in program history. The last time UCLA shot 12-under or better in a single round was in Fall 2018 when it scorched Red Sky Ranch Golf Club in the third round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge for a 17-under 271.
As a team, UCLA shot 11-under on the back nine and 1-under on the front, edging out Arizona State by a single stroke with Beth Coulter typically impressive for ASU.
The Kirkistown Castle ace tied alongside Wilson in 11th place at two-under after trading four birdies with two bogeys on Monday.
Coulter’s teammate Ashley Menne tied alongside Canales in top spot on the individual board.
