The FedEx Cup heads to Olympia Fields for the BMW Championship for the second leg of the three Playoff events this week with both Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power teeing it up with different agendas.

McIlroy will be looking to continue his good form as he bids for a fourth FedEx Cup title at East Lake next week with the prospect of becoming the first man to successfully defend both the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai titles still a huge possibility.

The four-time major champion shared third place at last weekend’s FedEx St Jude Championship, one shot shy of Lucas Glover who beat Patrick Cantlay in a playoff.

McIlroy remains third in the FedEx Cup rankings with Scottie Scheffler in second and Jon Rahm leading the way.

Meanwhile a poor showing from Waterford’s Power saw him slip outside the cut off point for next week’s Tour Championship.

The two-time PGA Tour winner fell from 30th to 35th in the latest FedEx Cup rankings with the top-30 after this week set for East Lake.

Making the top-30 is a must for Power to keep his dwindling Ryder Cup hopes alive.
