Rory McIlroy’s Champions Dinner menu has been revealed which will be served inside the Augusta National Clubhouse on the Tuesday evening of the Masters.
McIlroy also admitted he is unlikely to add in another event before his Green Jacket defence after he weighed up the idea of playing in Texas over the next two weeks.
“I think the Masters is going to be my next event,” he said on Tuesday night at TGL.
McIlroy announced his Champions Dinner on Wednesday afternoon via a virtual press conference at Augusta National.
The main course will bring a smile to Irish faces as it features a Wagyu Filet Mignon which includes a ‘traditional Irish champ, sautéed Brussels sprouts, glazed carrots with brown butter and crispy vidalia onion rings. Guests will have the option of seared salmon as well.
The appetisers include peach and ricotta flatbread, rock shrimp tempura, bacon-wrapped dates and grilled elk sliders.
The first course before the main is a yellowfin tuna carpaccio while McIlroy has gone for a dessert of sticky toffee pudding.
Unfortunately for some, the menu features no Ulster fry.
As for his Masters defence next month, the five-time major winner is feeling good about his back issue which caused him to withdraw halfway through the Arnold Palmer Invitational and not play a practice round before the Players Championship.
“I felt fine. I was a little worried, I would say, obviously was on pain killers anti inflammatories all of last week, so just sort of coming off those, just how I would feel on Monday. But felt fine yesterday. Feel fine today. So that wasn’t an issue, thankfully.”
