Olivia Mehaffey finished in a share of second place at the Standard Bank Ladies Open on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.
In tricky conditions, Mehaffey closed with a final round of 73 for a three-under total which was just one shot shy of eventual winner Danielle du Toit.
Mehaffey teed off in a share of the lead on four-under and made a terrific start with two birdies in her first five holes before she turned in 35 after her first bogey of the day on the ninth.
A string of pars on the back nine gave way to a tough finish as the Northern Irishwoman made back to back bogeys on 16 and 17 to fall one shot behind du Toit who had just gone birdie, double bogey, birdie herself.
Mehaffey couldn’t force extra holes with the closing birdie she needed and settled for second alongside Romy Meekers of the Netherlands.
Canice Screene missed the 36-hole cut.
