With four holes remaining in Round 3 at LIV Golf Adelaide, Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau looked to be in total control of the tournament with a five-shot lead over Jon Rahm.
But the Legion XIII captain, who was frustrated for most of the day, played his final five holes at 5 under and capped off his charge with an electrifying hole-out eagle on the 18th, tying him with DeChambeau at 19 under.
Rahm struggled early, bogeying his first two holes — the first consecutive bogeys for the Spaniard since LIV Golf Chicago in August 2025. Just as DeChambeau seemed to be pulling away, Rahm rattled off three straight birdies on Nos. 14-16 before holing out on 18—an early shot-of-the-year contender. He finished the round with a 6-under 66.
DeChambeau began Round 3 two shots behind Rahm but put together a masterful 8-under 64 that saw him make eight birdies in a nine-hole stretch from hole Nos. 6-14. He played relatively stress free for the remainder of the day until the par-4 17th hole when he made his first bogey since the 14th hole in Round 2.
For the first time since LIV Golf Las Vegas in 2024, two of the league’s biggest stars — Rahm and DeChambeau — will tee it up together in the final pairing for Sunday’s final round in what is sure to be one of the most thrilling final rounds in LIV Golf history.
“I think we’ll both be looking forward to it, and I hope it’s a banger,” Rahm said. “I hope we both have a good day, and may the best player win.”
Anthony Kim, the new 4Aces GC member, played another solid round, shooting a 4-under 68 to improve his score to 14 under for the tournament, five shots back of the lead and in solo third place. Kim will play alongside Rahm and DeChambeau in the final group on Sunday as he seeks his first LIV Golf top-10 finish.
Three players sit tied for fourth at 13-under par, lurking in the periphery of contention entering the final round. Ripper GC’s Cameron Smith made a big move up the leaderboard, firing an 8-under 64. RangeGoats GC’s Peter Uihlein and Ripper GC’s Lucas Herbert also sit at 13 under after rounds of 5-under 67.
Smith put on a short game clinic to keep Ripper GC in contention.
“Felt really good,” Smith said. “I think maybe scrappy at times with my irons, but managed to get it up-and-down. Short game felt really good today. Putter felt really good.”
RangeGoats GC’s Ben Campbell, who played alongside DeChambeau and Rahm in the final group in Round 3, limped to an even-par 72, slipping from having a share of the lead through two rounds to seven shots back and in a tie for seventh entering the final round.
Legion XIII surged up the team leaderboard, building a five-stroke lead over Ripper GC. Tyrrell Hatton shot a 6-under 66, Caleb Surratt shot an 8-under 64 and Tom McKibbin shot a 3-under 69 for Legion XIII. As for the Rippers, Smith led the scoring followed by Herbert.
The overall scoring average for Round 3 was similar to Rouns 2 at –2.91. Hole Nos. 2, 5, 16 and 17 played slightly over par. The tees were moved up on the par-4 eighth hole, transforming it from the hardest hole in Round 2 to the second-easiest hole in Round 3 at –0.49. The easiest hole was the par-5 10th, which played –0.60.
