Golf Ireland has announced the six-man team who will represent Ireland at the Men’s Octagonal Matches taking place tomorrow.
Costa Ballena Golf Club in Spain will once again play host to the event with a new-look Ireland team hoping to make a bright start to 2026.
This year Keith Egan (Carton House), David Howard (Fota Island), Jonathan Keane (Lahinch), Adam Fahey (Portmarnock), Isaac Oliver (Glasson) and John William Burke (Ballyhaunis) make up the team.
The eight countries involved are Italy, England, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain. The matches begin on Wednesday and will be played over four days.
Ireland will take on England on the opening day with the competition being spread across foursomes and singles.
Keith Egan and John William Burke will lead out the Boys in Green with Adam Fahey partnering Jonathan Keane and David Howard pairing with Isaac Oliver.
It’s a first taste of senior Irish action for Burke, Fahey and Oliver and they will take on an experienced English side which includes Eliot Baker and Lew Hayward who came agonisingly close to winning the Flogas Irish Amateur title last year.
