Anthony Kim has declared that winning golf tournaments is just around the corner for him after he secured his return to LIV Golf yesterday.
Kim was relegated from the Saudi backed tour at the end of last season but earned his way back after a top-3 finish at LIV Promotions at Black Diamond Ranch, Florida.
The 40-year-old made a sensational return to competitive golf in 2024 after a twelve-year absence when he penned a two-year deal with LIV Golf. But after two seasons of poor performances, Kim’s form picked up towards the end of 2025 as he made three successive cuts on the Asian Tour and finished 5th at the Saudi International. After a successful week again he sent out a warning to his critics.
“This is just the first step, but I’m glad I earned my spot so everybody could quit talking s**t, and I’ll be back soon, and I’ll be winning golf tournaments soon,” he said.
“There are so many negative people out there. “Unfortunately, I love hearing all the negativity. But I’m glad I get to throw this in their face.
“This is a surreal moment for me because other people obviously outside of my inner circle doubted me, but I would be lying to say that I didn’t know if I would ever earn my way back. To all the people that don’t feel I belong, they can suck it now.”
Kim finished solo third at the qualifying event after rounds of 66 and 69 while he also had to birdie his final hole to progress from the second round and he joins Canada’s Richard T. Lee who won the event, and Sweden’s Bjorn Hellgren as LIV’s three wildcard holders for this season which begins next month.
