Beth Coulter looked back to her best after her recent Las Vegas birthday celebrations as he fired a two-under 70 at the PING ASU Invitational.
The tournament, hosted by Coulter’s Arizona State team has been kind to the Sun Devil team so far with Coulter four shots off the pace on two-under while her teammate Patience Rhodes leads on six-under ahead of Isla McDonald O’Brien and Paula Schulz-Hanssen who are also of ASU.
Arizona State boast a big lead after the opening day, as they roared six shots clear in the team event on fifteen-under-par as they search for back to back wins.
Meanwhile, at the Clemson Invitational, Ohio State freshman Marina Joyce Moreno showed her class with a three-under 69 to share sixth place after the opening round.
It leaves Joyce-Moreno and her Ohio State team top of the leaderboard on thirteen-under-par.
Aine Donegan of LSU is fifteenth on two-under with her team in fifth place on eight-under while Rebekah Gardner is level-par as is her Miami team.
