Sara Byrne’s hopes of advancing to the Final Stage of LPGA Q-School were given a huge boost after she recovered from a slow start to move into the top-10 at the penultimate stage of the Q-Series.

Starting on the back nine, Byrne dropped shots at 11 and 13 but birdied three of her last four holes of her first nine to turn in 35 before two birdies on the 4th and 6th saw her sign for a 69 and climb into a share of 9th place on seven-under.

The Dromoland Castle golfer is eight shots off the medallist position but crucially is five shots inside the cut mark heading into the final round with the top-35 and ties advancing to the Final Stage.

Lauren Walsh faces a big day today after she ground out a two-under 70 to climb to three-under which leaves her on the current qualifying number in a share of 34th place.

Walsh also overcame a slow start where she was level-par after nine holes with birdies on 13 and 15 to reignite her hopes of a LPGA Tour card after an impressive rookie season on the LET to date.

By virtue of competing at Second Stage, both are guaranteed Epsom Tour Category I or Category K status for 2025, but making it through to Final Qualifying would guarantee Epsom Tour Category C status and a shot at joining Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow on the LPGA circuit.
