Robert Moran continued his bright start to life on the Alps Tour with a share of eleventh place at the Red Sea Little Venice Open.

Trailing by two shots heading into the final round, Moran carded a final round of 70 for a twelve-under total, four shots behind eventual winner, amateur Jose A. Sintes Navarro.

It was a quiet opening fourteen holes for Moran in the final round who began with six straight pars before registering a birdie on 7.

Dropped shots on 10 and 14 all but ended his chances but he finished with a late flurry, birdieing the 16th and eagling the par-5 17th.

Spanish amateur Sintes Navarro came from the pack with a final round of 66 to win by a shot from Enrico Di Nitto, Eduard Rousaud and Lukas Lipold.

“I played very solidly all week, missing only a couple of shots overall, which allowed me to be very calm and put together good results. What I did today by winning it’s incredible,” said the Spaniard.

“I’m still speechless that I won on the Alps Tour as an amateur in just my second event, but I truly believe that if you trust that you can do it, it will be possible.”

When asked about his goals for the season and plans on turning professional Sintes Navarroexplained: “I’m not sure what I will do to be honest, the plan was to combine amateur events with the Alps Tour events, but I will see if something will change once I get back home.
